Instagram image sizes in 2026

Profile tiles are no longer safely square. 3:4 (1080×1440) matches what the grid shows. A 3×3 still wants a source around 3240×4320 if you do not want the splitter to upscale.

Feed posts still like 4:5. Stories and Reels stay 9:16. Carousel slides should share one ratio so Instagram does not crop the rest to the first slide.
